What is Antique Prime Solid Oak Flooring?
We manufacture this prime solid oak flooring within our UK mills. The oak used is American White Oak. We supply the flooring with an Antique finish which is hand finished by us. The antique oak colouring is a few shades darker than the unfinished oak, but shows the true beauty of the oak’s characteristics. As you can see in the image, the antique really brings out the grain patten. The finish we use is a Treatex oil. The oil soaks into the timber which is how you can see all the natural characteristics more clearly. As the oil soaks into the timber rather than sitting on top of the timber, it makes the maintenance much easier and also prevents the flooring from scratching or marking as easy. This oak flooring is a very hard waring product.
As this is a prime grade oak, you would usually find that it would be installed into a more contemporary property as only few thumbnail sized knots are within the boards, giving a more uniform look, but the oak still does contain it’s characteristics.
We supply the antique prime grade solid oak flooring in a range of widths for you to choose from. The widths range from a 4″ right the way through to a 9″ wide board. The board profile is a micro bevel. The lengths are supplied random from 1.2 – 2.4m Lengths.
As we manufacture this product and it is a unique product with the spec chosen by yourself, the delivery is usually around 7-10 days.
