Treatex Hardwax Oil – 2.5L Tin Clear Satin

How do I apply the Clear Satin Flooring Oil?

We recommend that you use a lint free cloth to apply the Clear Satin Treatex Oil.  The reason for this is so that you don’t get any brush marks within the timber once the oil has dried.  You need to apply the oil as thinly as possible, remember that this product is not a paint.  Once the oil has been rubbed into the timber you will notice how the grain pattern will stand out beautifully.  If you prefer you can let the first coat dry, and then re apply a second coat.  We tend to recommend that you do apply two coats.  The treatex has a quicker drying time than other products that we have used before.

The reason we recommend that you finish you oak flooring, whether it be solid oak or engineered oak, is that the oil actually soaks into the timber rather than sitting on top of the timber, which does give a much natural finish.  A varnish or a lacquer sits on top of the finish, meaning it makes the floor very easy to chip or scratch, an oil does prevent that from happen, or if a scratch does appear an oil means repairing your floor is much much easier and a lot cheaper.
The satin finish is a clear oil so it does leave the oak as natural as possible, it will slightly darken the oak but you will only notice a very slight change.  The satin give off a little shine effect to the oak floor, but nothing too drastic.  It gives a lovely finish.

This product is for internal use only, if you have other wood or oak products around the house, you can always use the clear satin Treatex Oil.

The tin is 2.5L and covers 50sqm with 1 coat.
